Respect
Respect, what is respect? The dictionary can give various definitions of respect " an act of giving particular attention : consideration" "a : high or special regard : esteem ,b : the quality or state of being esteemed" I will be using these definitions in regard to people. Respect in my on terms is a word used to show tolerance,some sense of adoration or even affection towards another being and the choices they make. Respect is a honor that many people believe you must and can only earn it while other believe you are born with. I'm in the camp of everyone is born with a module of respect and must work to keep it. The fact is the everyone holds in high regard respect.
The respect ones born with is given to some human being as a fact of life. Even up to the point were the Laws and society themselves are structured around the concept or respect. The respect given by being born is more of a show of respect to towards life then anything else. It should hold the same if it comes directed towards the life of a newborn, a dog, a elder or towards the life of nature around us. All these things should be given the respect they give onto us as another living organism.
The respect one must earn, you might be wondering why if were should all respect life then why can respect be earn? Here comes the respect of your character as a entity. The choices you made and the way you respond to the choices made by others. As we grow older we then to respect based on a merit system most of witch is decided arbitrarily. To earn respect as a being you must first hold respect towards yourself hold your convictions high and don't let them falter for a easy way out. Do not let appearance fool you Respect should solely be based on character and morals. As I've heard say "As hard you work to earn is as hard as you work to keep it.".
